Today we are going to discuss more words that have to do with food.
This is the second video where I am talking about food, so don’t forget to go watch the very first video where we talked about food vocabulary.

1.     The first word that we will talk about is the word “mushy”
2.     A good example of a mushy food is a banana.
3.     Why? What is mushy?
4.     Well “mushy” is any food that is very soft, so watch…
5.     It’s mushy. It mushes very easily, it’s very squish. So bananas…
6.     Bananas are delicious, but bananas are also very mushy.
7.     Another word that we can use for bananas, and many fruits and vegetables is “ripe”.
8.     Ripe means that the food is ready to eat.
9.     For example, this banana is ripe because it is yellow.
10.                        Another example is this avocado.
11.                        This avocado has a dark colour right now
12.                        That means that the avocado is ready to eat.
13.                        If a fruit or a vegetable is “unripe” or “not ripe”, we can’t eat it.
14.                        For example, this banana is yellow. However, of this banana was green
15.                        It is not ripe. It would not be ripe. It would be “unripe” or “not ripe”
16.                        Another word we use to describe food is “bitter”
17.                        One example of a bitter food is this one, let me show you: coffee.
18.                        Bitter foods like coffee have a very strong, and sometimes unpleasant, or not a very good taste.
19.                        So for example, if I take some coffee… c’mon coffee…
20.                        If I take some coffee and put iit in my mouth, the taste is very bad.
21.                        That taste is bitter. It’s really bad!
22.                        Many foods do not have a very strong taste.
23.                        For example, rice does not have a strong taste.
24.                        I can eat rice and the taste is not very strong.
25.                        Food like rice that does not have a strong taste, we will use the word “bland” to describe it.
26.                        So rice is a bland food.
27.                        Another word we can use to describe food is “crumbly”.
28.                        Crumbly, like these chips…
29.                        Crumbly means that the food can break into small pieces very easily, see?
30.                        This is crumbly…crumbly…crumbly
31.                        Now, let’s do a test. What is a word, or maybe even two words, that can describe an avocado?
32.                        Let’s do another one. What are some words you can use to describe 100% pure cacao powder? Think about the taste of very dark chocolate.
33.                        What about bread? This one here is bread. What are some words that you would use to describe the flavour of bread?
34.                        Let’s look at another food: crackers.
